Our Shantidevi Ashram guest house, located not far from the Mahabodhi temple, invites you to reconnect with yourself in a peaceful and authentic setting.
What makes us unique :
Forsaking the bustle of Bodhgaya, five minutes in a tchuk tchuk will bring you to the Shantidevi Ashram – a large, light coloured house in the middle of a peaceful well planted tropical garden.
The road in front of the Shantidevi ashram is alive with the peaceful scenes of daily life: women coming and going in multicoloured saris, baskets loaded on their heads, clusters of schoolchildren in uniform, herdsmen with their herds of buffalo, monks on bicycles draped in their saffron, garnet and orange robes, graceful women gleaners looking for a few grains to eat…, a slow, majestic elephant carrying its load with good humour, while the Dudwalla announces his fresh buffalo yoghurt at the top of his voice. … the majestic, slow-moving elephant, carrying its load with good humour, while the Dudwalla announces its fresh buffalo yoghurt at the top of its lungs, the hawk-cuckoo crescendoing its Hou hou hou… an appointment not to be missed.
